Is it really too much to ask?

Seriously, we as a country have done so much for this world, especially after a war, is it too much to ask a little love in return?
We had the marshall plan and the berlin air lift taking the preverbial "lemons" and made lemonade. Now we have allies from what were our enemies.
So while we figure out global "warming" which is highly disputable, couldn't Iraq lay a pipline straight into Texas and provide some 10 cent a barrel crude? Lets give em some time to settle then lets give them an economy, we benefit from low gas prices and they sell lots of oil.
Its a simple yet obvious idea. We can do both....we can explore for new energy or better yet do what France does and go nuclear solving much of the issue, and in the mean time DROP THE PRICES and free much of our economy. All we have to do is lift some taxes and allow some drilling and the prices will plummet. The U.S. government needs to grow some "barrels" and step up to ease the prices.
Soon is not soon enough!
Lets all call our senators and congress people and make them act now!
